- "...The early brethren who were holding services in their houses and barns. Daniel Reichard and David Long were active in the ministry and needed help to care for the scattered settlers. AN election was held and young John Emmert was called to the ministry. He was probably the third minister called to that sacred office by the early settlers around the Manor. It appears he was very devout and able young leader. He died rather young and the church sustained a great loss in his passing."
